The 7 Best Restaurants in Green Bay

I’ve put together a list of the 7 best restaurants in Green Bay. I feel like each restaurant is best in their own category and is in no particular order. Whether you’re going out for lunch or looking for a nice restaurant to bring a date, these 7 restaurants are sure to impress you.

Los Magueyes

With 3 locations, this authentic Mexican restaurant is always delicious. Julio and Polo over at Los Mageyes always serve up hot and huge portions that melt in your mouth. The first time I visited their location on S. Webster I ordered their special, beef fajitas. It was amazing and I waddled out of there stuffed and had enough left over for three more meals!

ChivesChef JR

Chives is located just north of Green Bay but I thought I was too good to leave out and is definitely worth the short drive. Chives Restaurant is JR Schoenfeld dream and a culmination of his favorite places he’s been and most importantly, his favorite foods he learned to prepare along his way. He keeps it simple, always using the freshest ingredients available to him.

This fine dining restaurant is definitely a place frequented by many. In 2012, JR worked closely with his son, Nick Morse to open Bleu Restaurant in DePere.  In 2014, they expanded again and opened Chives Door County in Baileys Harbor as a seasonal restaurant managed by the youngest son, Lucas Schoenfeld. Late summer of 2014, JR opened The Bread Bank, a small bakery across the street from Chives in Suamico and in November 2014, he opened Rye Restaurant in Downtown Appleton.

Al’s Hamburgers

Al’s Hamburgers located in Downtown Green Bay has been making unbelievable hamburgers since 1934! With classic pickles and onions under ever bun you can’t go wrong stopping in here for lunch or before the big game. Always served fresh and at an unbelievable price, you’re not going to get a drive through burger like this.

Don’t like hamburgers? Al’s also serves up unbelievable chicken, BLT, and veggie burgers. Ya, you heard you me right, veggie burgers!

A’Bravo is a small, upscale deli that opened in 1999. Although they offer a large variety of sandwiches, salads, pasta, and pizzas they seem to do make everything like it’s the only thing they make. Although it’s a little expensive, it’s definitely worth it and you’ll definitely go home satisfied.
