15 Best Gifts for Flight Attendants

Trying to find the right gift for your flight attendant can be difficult, especially because they’re restricted on what they can accept.

Below I’ve compiled a list of the 15 best gifts to buy a flight attendant and 3 things not to get your flight attendant.

If there’s anything else that should be on the list, let me know in the comments below!

1. Candy or Chocolate

Candy or chocolate from the airport gift shop is the most common gift for flight attendants. It’s small, relatively cheap, and you can get it last minute.

I like to go for a bag of chocolate truffles or an assorted gift box as you never really know what they like.

2. Starbucks Gift Card

A Starbucks gift card is also an easy gift to grab right before the flight and I’m sure it’ll be much appreciated next time your flight attendant has a red-eye flight to catch.

3. Noise Canceling Headphones

I personally own a pair of Bose 700 over-the-ear headphones and JBL 75t earbuds and I highly recommend both.

I find the JBL earbuds tend to be a little better at noise-canceling however they are Bluetooth only so you won’t be able to plug them in to watch movies during a flight.

A good budget option would be the Anker Q20 Soundcore headphones, available for less than $60.

4. Phone Soap

Because liquids are restricted on airplanes, hand sanitizer can be difficult to bring on the plane.

Phone soap however contains no liquids and uses UV light to sanitize any phone in less than 60 seconds. It even contains a battery that will keep phones charged during a long flight!

Get one on Amazon for $80 or less.

5. Travel / Passport Wallet

If you use your passport often, you want to protect it. That’s where a travel wallet comes in.

I like to make sure it has RFID blocking technology to keep people from stealing your information.

I use this travel wallet that also includes spots for a few cards and your boarding pass.

6. Pin or Brooch

A pin or brooch is the perfect way for a flight attendant to stand out.

Because a flight attendant has to wear a uniform there aren’t many accessories they can wear or ways for them to stand out. This is where a unique pin or brooch comes in.

You can’t go wrong with one of these airplane pins and they’ll be showing it off to everyone they meet.

7. Earings or Cufflinks

Earings or cufflinks are another good way for a flight attendant to stand out. Go with the standard airplane shape and they’re guaranteed to love them and wear them often.

8. Collapsible Water Bottle

Collapsible water bottles are perfect for a flight attendant that only brings a carry-on.

A collapsible water bottle allows you to get through security and fill it up on the other side.

When you’re not using it, you can fold it up nice and small and store it in your carry-on.

9. Luggage Cup Holder

A cupholder or caddy that fits onto your luggage is an ingenious way to free up your hands while in the airport.

Both are universal and work with almost any luggage with a collapsible handle.

I would personally go for the caddy as you can fit your drinks and other items into it but the cup holder is more sturdy is made out of sturdy plastic whereas the caddy is made out of fabric.

It’s made with a soft luxury fleece and the hood detaches and can be stored in its side pocket along with your headphones, glasses, or other small items.

Things You’re Not Allowed to Give Flight Attendants

Flight attendants aren’t allowed to receive certain gifts due to safety and security rules. If you’re planning to give a gift to your flight attendant stay away from these following gifts.

Cash

Cash is the ultimate gift but unfortunately, flight attendants are not allowed to receive cash.  Instead, opt for a gift card or just go get a different gift altogether.

Handmade Goods

Handmade goods and items not in their original packaging cannot be accepted by flight attendants so it’s best to leave your homemade pie at home.
